We have 18 acres of woods, marsh and fields. The surrounding area is rural with farming and dairies and horses in the surrounding rolling hills. We grow blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and many varieties of vegetables through the season. We also have a greenhouse. We need help with growing, harvesting and processing these foods as well as maintaining the land and grounds. There are also opportunities to build and service equipment and outbuildings and help serve some of the workshops we host. It may be possible to attend some of the workshops and retreats that are held on site.We need one or two persons as soon as possible and would suggest a minimum of two weeks stay - longer if mutually agreeable. We would expect 20 hours help a week in exchange for room and board. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. We can provide a rustic cabin with nearby kitchen and bathroom. We speak English and a little French and Spanish. Children are welcome. We have 1 dog and chickens so accommodating other pets must be discussed beforehand. The farm is less than two hours from Washington D.C. and we can help provide transportation to the nearest train station if needed to get there and back.

This place is a little paradise that is also very engaged with the world in it's own way and I'm feeling truly blessed to have encountered Marianne, Randy as well as all the other marvelous people who gravitate around this grounding place for so long, with a lot of respect for Native people and all walks of life. I recommend anyone who enjoys peace and new experiences to join !! :)

I had a wonderful experience staying with Marianne and Randy at Gaia Healing Center. They were warm, welcoming and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. One of the things I appreciated most was the freedom and flexibility they gave me. They trusted me to work independently while always being available to answer questions or explain a project when needed. Although the property includes beautiful berry plantings and gardens, my stay focused primarily on building and repair projects. As someone who enjoys hands-on work, I found that very rewarding. I learned practical skills while contributing to meaningful improvements around the property. The setting itself is peaceful and relaxing, making it a great place to step away from the busyness of everyday life. If you're looking for hosts who are kind, respectful, and willing to let you work at your own pace while still providing guidance, I highly recommend Gaia Healing Center. I left with new experiences, practical knowledge, and a greater appreciation for everything Marianne and Randy have created.

We had a wonderful stay at Marianne's farm. She and her partner Randy were very welcoming, kind, and responsive. While there, we did a variety of projects such as pruning berry bushes, weeding, mulching, mowing, sawing off a tree, among others. The work schedule was flexible, with a list of projects given ahead of time and thoroughly explained and/or demonstrated. The accommodations were a quiet cabin, composting toilet, detached shower room, and a private heavy-duty kitchen with any cooking equipment you may need. The surrounding area was very friendly and rich with cultural/historical opportunities and nature. We highly recommend this place to anyone interested!

The stay we had with Mariane and her husband was wonderful. They are so kind and pleasant, radiating hospitality and generosity. We had a great time in their company — a beautiful exchange. The place was peaceful, quiet, a little paradise. The tasks that were assigned to us were done wholeheartedly. They are exceptional hosts.

Beautiful grounds, woods and gardens! Marianne was a gracious host with a friendly dog and cat. Private cabin stay with large kitchen lined along the woods. Enjoying her book, "Holistic Guide to Womens Health".

Marianne and Randy were lovely hosts. My stay was peaceful and full of self reflection. Their property is large, mostly wooded and features berry bushes, raised beds and a cozy living space for volunteers called the “hearth”. I spent my days doing land stewardship projects ranging from weed whacking to gardening and cleaning. Randy has family near by that I’d give a hand to as well out on their farm. If you’re looking for a quiet stay that’s mainly self lead then this is a perfectly stunning environment for you to take some time to yourself. My stay was one of their longest at almost two months. Perks: -Holistic wellness environment -Beautiful land -Separate living space -Yoga studio -Beautiful countryside -15 to 30min from nearby towns -Interesting topics of conversation I highly recommend visiting Sykesville while you’re in the area. They have a lovely downtown that is quaint but soooo cute.
