Our farm is nestled on 11 acres of mainly forested land in rural, artistic Midcoast Maine (a 20 minute scenic drive from the coast). We focus on chemical-free bees, poultry, medicinal herbs, berries and perennial pollinator gardens. We have a large Tibetan garlic crop and operate a commercial high tunnel. WWOOFers can expect to help tend to the birds, bees, gardens, guest rooms and landscape (including stonework). Current accommodations include a wwoofer dorm room in the barn with cooktop and mini fridge, queen bed and dining table, propane outdoor shower and outdoor toilet. We also have a Tentrr campsite that is used for the park exchange when not rented. I currently host guests on AirBnb and offer Reiki and Herbal Medicine from a full apothecary at home and at the Farmer's Market. My approach to farming is that it is a sacred practice. I have three daughters ages 3, 8, and 10. My diet is gluten free, but we can accommodate the dietary needs of any guest. We are located across the street from the local swimming hole, so why not jump in on a hot day after working on the farm? Maine offers so much natural beauty to explore!I hope to pair helpers with roughly 20 hours of work a week that motivates and piques their own interests in sustainable organic farming and lifestyle. Christina was a fabulous host! She was so knowledgeable and helpful, and her entire family was wonderful and welcoming, making me feel right at home with them. I learned how to till ground and identify many different types of plants, and Christina told me about their uses for diet and medicinal purposes. The accommodations were excellent—I had a private camper in a quiet, secluded area, but I would often dine with the family. Christina and I processed vegetables from the farm and used them to create meals, which was particularly gratifying. Overall the layout of the farm was so well organized, and the land itself is beautiful. I recommend this experience for any WWOOFer seeking to learn more about homesteading and farming!

WWOOFING at this farm was such an incredible experience. Chrissy has a wealth of knowledge and is so eager to share her passions. I stayed in the barn dorm and had a wonderful and comfortable time. Chrissy was so accommodating to my needs and what I wanted out of my time at her special corner of the world. I'll definitely be back to work but also to visit!

Christina was a great host and super accommodating. She is passionate about what she does and sharing her knowledge with others. The work was rewarding, and it’s a great area to explore with a lot of hiking trails and beaches. Highly recommend!

Chrissy gave great suggestions of local areas to check out and generously shared her plant knowledge! I really enjoyed the hands on work I got to experience in the garden and the environment of spellbound in general. I was staying at the Tenter site and it was cozy and beautiful and such a joy to wake up to such a lovely view every morning.

My time at Spellbound farm was a wonderful experience. I spent two weeks in this beautiful part of Maine, the rich experience of nature and spiritual discussion made me feel very much at home. Crissy was flexible with the work schedule and the projects that needed to be accomplished. I spent time mulching, stacking wood, building a wood shed, weeding, harvesting herbs, helping at a farmers market and moving manure. The entire space was magical and left me feeling uplifted. I had to cook most of my own food which was a little challenging without running water but I made it work and got into a routine with it over a the first few days. All in all this was a wonderful experience and provided me with opportunities to learn new skills and feel immersed within a small community of Maine. I hope to visit again in the future.

I had an incredible time visiting Chrissy at Spellbound! From the moment I arrive I was welcomed in and encouraged to make the space feel like home. I stayed above the barn and really enjoyed the roomy setup. There was something new to do every day including weeding, planting, mowing, chicken care, greenhouse work, organization, herbal tincture decanting, and spending so much time with Chrissy and the girls. Theres a swimming hole right across the street where we spent many afternoons. It's about a 12 min drive to get to Camden or Rockland where you can find coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream, and great views. I ended up spending some lovely evenings in the Camden Village Green. Chrissy was very conscious of work hours and allowing time for rest and exploration. I learned so much from her about what it takes to run a farm and the skills and strength acquired in the process. I had no prior knowledge of tincture making or decanting vinegars. I really enjoyed spending time learning about the impacts of local herbs on human health. The visit felt collaborative with space to adventure on my own. I would absolutely recommend a visit to Spellbound! It was a wonderful learning experience filled with joy and community.
