We grow cut flowers and are building a little homestead campground just outside of Murphys, CA

Our market business! The Soup Kitchen outdoor hangout spot

Here’s the TLDR: we have a ton of garden space (about an acre) we can’t use and want a long term woofer to come kick ass and use most of it and let us have some of the spoils. I just can’t keep up with it. We would really prefer people that have their own trailer/van/bus and want a spot to stay for a while and just help us out here and there. In our experience it just works out better in the long term for scheduling/meals/getting things done. We have 155 acres outside of the historic gold country town of Murphys, Ca. The site was once used as a cannabis farm but is now being converted into a homestead where we run our new business, Blooms and Shrooms. We also run a hipcamp hosting so we have campers from time to time. We have a booth at the local farmers market and also just started a bouquet club! We focus on cut flowers but are also starting a little vegetable garden. As far as projects go, we have tons! From building out tiny houses to chicken coops, garden beds, root cellars, hugelkultur, planting trees… it goes on and on.. Our goal is to make this land a sustainable farm/ecosystem that is a welcoming and loving little slice of nature where people can relax, learn, grow and enjoy all the benefits of a peaceful life without being too hippy dippy. So far we’ve had AWESOME luck with the wwoofers that have come! **We’ve also learned there are A LOT of people who change their plans, so it’s really important to us to filter out who’s serious and who’s not. We shoot for a 8a-noon schedule 5 or 6 days a week. Farmers Market is on Sunday and it’s super important to help with that! Other than that we are flexible. Internet available.

Ben and heather are the absolute sweetest people I believe I will forever have friends in Murphys now thanks to them and their sweet kids and friends:) it was hard to leave I very much enjoyed the work and it’s such a beautiful area to explore during your free time. I would recommend to anyone to go see them and help them out they will make you feel appreciated and apart of the family ;) they have a good thing going!

I stayed with Ben and Heather this past summer from May until August. It was a delightful couple of months. They always made me feel very safe and welcome on their farm. I would highly recommend them to any potential WWOOFers, especially in the summer, since that is when the Murphys' farmers market is. Since their farm is a couple of miles outside of town, I would recommend that woofers have their own mode of transportation if they choose to stay here.

Heather and Ben were kind and welcoming. Their farm is rustic and lovely with the sweetest animals you could hope to meet. There were a variety of projects I had the opportunity to work on which were engaging and rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at their farm and look forward to seeing their continued growth.

My partner Jordan and I are very grateful for the time we spent here. We got to work on a variety of tasks, so every day was exciting and a little bit different. Ben and Puff were very kind and welcoming to us. Also, the surrounding area is beautiful and so much fun to see. I would absolutely recommend the farm to anyone interested in learning about organic gardening and/or how to operate a self sufficient property. Thanks again :)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ben and Puff's farm, and I cannot express enough how truly enchanting my experience was. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene beauty that surrounded me, and the warm hospitality of Ben and Puff made my stay all the more unforgettable. Upon stepping foot on their farm, I was immediately greeted by Ben, whose genuine smile and welcoming demeanor set the tone for my entire visit. Puff, his delightful partner, exuded an infectious love for their land and the flowers growing on it. Together, they created an atmosphere that felt like a true home away from home. The accommodations were nothing short of delightful. The school bus I stayed in exuded rustic charm while providing all the modern amenities one could desire. Speaking of adventures, Ben and Puff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was filled with memorable experiences. From listening to bangers around the campfire to hands-on experience in the flower beds, every moment was filled with joy and discovery. I'll forever cherish the early morning conversations over coffee and the warm smiles of their beautiful friends and family. For my first ever WWOOFing experience I could not have asked for a better environment for learning and engaging with the world around me. With heartfelt gratitude, Sophi D.

I had no expectations going into my first WWOOFing experience. I just knew it was something I wanted for myself, so I did it. Ben, Puff, and their family and friends made it such a lovely experience. I felt so comfortable and welcome and in the little time I spent with them, I really feel like I made friends. I highly recommend this farm to all WWOOFers, but especially first time WWOOFers. The property is beautiful, the environment is open and welcoming, and the work is purposeful and heartfelt. Much love to this family and the beauty they are putting into the world.
