WWOOF-USA is proud to announce that three grants were awarded through our organization’s first annual Multimedia Grant Program.
The WWOOF-USA Multimedia Grant Program, established in 2016, awards grants to WWOOF-USA members with backgrounds or interest in photojournalism and filmmaking who will be visiting multiple WWOOF-USA host farms during the year. The grant will support the WWOOFing visits while the recipients create beautiful WWOOF stories that can be shared with others through videos, photos and social media. We are very excited to see these projects come to life and share them with the WWOOF-USA community!
Congratulations to the following WWOOF-USA members:
Filmmaker Hyunsoo Moon and his motion-graphics-expert wife have spent the last 8 months on an RV trip and WWOOFing around the country. They plan to capture the fall harvest season in Washington state while WWOOFing at three different host farms- a vegetable farm, a flower farm and a livestock farm.
New York City native Luca Rivela has been practicing photography and videography for seven years, and just spent six weeks WWOOFing in Hawaii. He plans to keep WWOOFing in Alaska, New Mexico, Georgia and Puerto Rico and his videos will highlight the activities, places and relationships made while WWOOFing.
Matt Duffy and John Dupre are friends and cofounders of a travel media startup. With professional backgrounds in agriculture and filmmaking, they have plans to go WWOOFing for a year and will be profiling host farms around the country through photo articles, video interviews, and drone images.
We received many outstanding proposals this year and want to thank all members for the hard work and effort that was put into them.
Please stay tuned in 2017 for information on how to apply for our grants program again next year. In the meantime, make sure to follow WWOOF-USA on social media to see and share these projects as they are released.
