I spent 10 lovely days at bobcat ridge and enjoyed my stay! During April, we planted, prepared beds for planting, weeded, harvested, and more. Ken works on several projects and you might have opportunities to help him out with those! Each day had something different going on and I really appreciated being included in all the non farm activities and events! Thank you Ken for your hospitality, sharing your knowledge of your garden, and getting me interested in yoga again!

Staying at this multi-million dollar property is a phenomenal experience. The front yard is a beautiful botanical garden and serves as the stunning focal point of the entire home. It’s been incredible to watch the flowers and fruits starting to grow in such a well-curated space. The location is absolutely elite. Being completely surrounded by the University of Virginia, the community is a vibrant mix of students, which keeps the energy high and the atmosphere exciting. Accessibility is a total game-changer; there are free buses, as well as bikes, and scooters everywhere, so nothing is ever far away. Whether it’s exploring local job opportunities or tapping into the university culture, the convenience is unmatched. The property itself is perfectly sized to be manageable while offering a high-end, botanical lifestyle. I’m looking forward to staying on for a while and seeing the garden continue to flourish in the heart of such a lively community! Steve is a genuinely gracious and knowledgeable host. His passion for the property and the garden is contagious, and his willingness to share his time and expertise makes the WWOOFing experience feel collaborative and meaningful rather than transactional. He leads with warmth and treats volunteers like valued guests. The food has been a true highlight of the stay. Fresh, wholesome, and thoughtfully prepared, the meals reflect the same care and intentionality that Steve brings to everything on the property.

I had a wonderful stay at Morning Glory and Bumble Bee Orchard. Margaret and Vita are lovely souls that ensured my stay was knowledgeable, fun, and comfortable. We worked together on a variety of tasks from making jam and preparing teas to pruning raspberries, replanting younger trees, and enjoying walks with their friendly goats. It was a warmer week when I arrived and we took many breaks. They both checked in frequently to ensure I was well hydrated and well fed. Vita and Margaret are great cooks and their homemade vegetarian meals were delicious and filling. The accommodation was very comfortable with a large bed and private bathroom. One of the many things I appreciated were our insightful conversations. I left having learned many orchard skills and life insights, as well. Thank you, again, for a great stay!

William was a great host! I was only at Wildcat for about a week and a half, but it was an amazing time. The buses were comfy and the right temperature during the day and night; their land is gorgeous, beautiful creek and epic trails! I’m not a vegan, but I joined in with the diet; William, Annie and Jeremy were very accepting with my new veganism 😉 The delicious food and recipes made helped for sure! Definitely would recommend Wildcat; cool people and cool times! A highlight for me was the kayaking group, if not for anything else go for that!!

One of the best WWOOF experiences I have had! I had a wonderful time with Eric and Gina at Copper Horse, and they made me feel welcome in their home instantly. I enjoyed working in the vineyard with Eric, tending to the animals, morning walks with the dogs into the desert, doing yoga/tai chi before breakfast, and almost daily movie nights. As for as the scenic location, the guest house looked right out at the Chiricahua mts and the views were stunning. Cave Creek Canyon is very close, where you will be amazed at the natural beauty, hiking opportunities and swimming holes. Gina is an excellent cook, and each meal was thoughtfully paired with a wine and interesting conversation about world affairs. Eric will answer any question you have about the wine making process or his methods for off grid living. I also had the opportunity to help out at 2 different wine festivals where I got to meet artists and taste other Arizona wines. Overall, my experience was rich, varied and educational. Come willing to fall into the day to day routine of Gina and Eric and bring a good work ethic and you will have a memorable experience. They both exude passion about their mission and are dedicated to the self sustaining lifestyle.

It is my first time as a WWOOFer and it was amazing ! I’m from France, discovering US with differents activities and doing WWOOF is one of the best way I’m working with Ryan, the owner of the homestead. I made a lot of outside winter activities like firewoods, preparings soils and seeds for spring and maple syrup. I learn soo much about plants, animals, mushroom, woods/fire, cabin, lake, sap… This place is magic and I recommand to everyone who are looking for a different experience ! Big thanks to Ryan and the woods communities, it was awesome

Craig and his family are amazing people. I am usually an omnivore but had no issues changing over to a vegetarian diet. The work there is very enjoyable and talking to Craig during is a great feeling. I loved the rain water system they have going there it was never an issue with water as long as you understand they are looking to preserve their water as much as possible. It's very easy to do and makes you think about how much you could usually take for granted the city water lines. It's now a big interest of my own to get a water system like his. He has a beautiful garden that's right next to the pond. Unfortunately I never went into it but it was a luxury to look at it all the time. We got radishes, parsnips, sunflowers, and watermelonsplanted in the garden and I hope you get to tend to them and see them as they come up, depending when you get there. I will definitely be coming back here when I get the opportunity!

Manon and Ian were wonderful hosts(!!!); kind, conversational, knowledgeable and fun, yet they work hard too. I was very impressed with how much they've built a farm from nothing within a few years and their sustainable methods are inspiring. I learned a great deal and hope to return to help out during the summer of 2027.

ns were available if I wanted a change. (I really like weeding, so that worked great with me.) I recommend a rental car to maximize the ability to explore locally, though the bus is an option too. Overall, highly recommend these great hosts and location!

Jennie is such a wonderful, accepting, caring, badass individual who made us feel immediately immersed in life at the farm, and therefore her life, a rare and beautiful occurrence. What an incredible experience, learning anything from soil health, seed sowing, fertilizing, farm entrepreneurship, and herbal remedies all while being intertwined in such a well versed community of wise folk. We were able to meet so many amazing people who were drawn to Jennie and the farm, rightly so, and we feel infinitely lucky for the connections made during our stay. This was a great adventure for both of us. And we highly recommend you stay whether a solo adventurer or sharing with a friend.

Where do I even start! Honey Blossom Retreat has been my favorite wwoofing experience so far. I had an amazing 3 week stay on Marie’s farm. If you love animals, this place is for you! I loved being around all of the animals, there was never a dull moment! Marie truly cares about everyone on her farm, I felt valued and appreciated. The accommodations were comfortable and she was generous about providing good food for us. The work hours were very reasonable, I had two days off every week. It was easy to communicate with Marie, this truly felt like a safe space as a solo traveling woman. I also learned so much during my time here! I enjoyed learning about the plants, planting seeds, and going with her to farmer’s markets and to deliver her plants to local stores. I will definitely be back to visit the friends I made on this farm (and all the animal friends!). Thank you Marie for your kindness and inspiration!!!

Eric is such a generous and considerate host and lives with inspiring intention and presence! It was awesome to be welcomed into his resourceful homestead as well as the beautiful community he is part of in Boulder. Work time was spent harvesting pinion and fir, processing it, and packing the still, as well as a bit of gardening and foraging for teas. Eric lives very closely with the land and is a dedicated steward of the earth as well as a teacher- he makes sure that everyone understands the distillation process, encourages you to disconnect and read during your stay, and readily shares his wisdom about plant medecine, natural materials, and much more. I chose to sleep in my own camping set up as the tipi was on its last legs but the house/common space is very cozy and welcoming, and the food and coffee are absolutely delicious. Thank you Eric!!
