this was a stunning and well organized farm surrounded by mountains. i was typically given a list of different things that needed done for the day that were done about 60% alone. I was started at 7 am and susan was really good about tracking time to let me know when I was done for the day. the trailer I stayed in was super comfortable. we had dinner together in the main house, breakfast and lunch on your own. patrick and susan have super sweet and caring hearts and I felt comfortable talking to them about anything. I left that farm with a better eye for farming. watching susan and paying attention to her ways will up your farm game.

Kirstin and William are beyond wonderful hosts! They are so welcoming and it’s easy to feel at home here. I learned so much about myself and the land, and how to be in communion with it. I learned how to cook new vegetables and foods harvested from the garden. There were so many enjoyable conversations at the dinner table with so many wonderful people. Everyone helps out with gratitude for the nature all around and each other. When I think of this place I think about all things growing, porcupines, music, friends and food, tea, the outside and contemplation. I spent about a month here and will hold the memories I have in my heart forever. So filling!

I had a great experience. Peter is very knowledgeable in a variety of livestock, orchard, and land management techniques and is a great teacher. He is great to work with and he focused the work on tasks I was interested in learning. The land is beautiful and quiet. The horses are friendly as well as the sheep, cats, and Australian shepherd.

Loni is a truly gracious and welcoming host! Her property is a hidden gem, exceptionally gorgeous, and the folks there seem to have a light in them. I only Wwoofed for the day, however, it was plenty of time to know that I'd love to come back and assist in their endeavors further. I appreciate everyone I met there for being so kind and I look forward to returning soon. Thank you Loni! ~ Antonio

My time wwoofing at Campo de Colston was wonderful! Katya and her family are very welcoming and kind, and they made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable and enjoy experiencing Puerto Rico for the first time. (Ie. The mosquitos seemed to really love me, so Katya provided ample resources for me to keep them at bay) They also had great recommendations for places to visit, like a beautiful waterfall hike, and helped me get to each one. The work was gratifying and expanded my horizons without pressure of overexherting myself. We spent a lot of time clearing vegetation and I learned to get confident using a machete! Sleeping in the tent was lovely and peaceful with a blanket of nighttime tropical rainforest sounds (except for the occasional rooster of course), and did not get too hot! The fans helped heaps. I am so grateful my first WWOOFing experience was with Katya, and I would recommend staying with them to anyone who wants a fun and laid-back time farming in the hills of Hormigueros.

Overall, I had a good experience with Kelly at the Magical Farm! I did have to share the camper with another female WWOOFer for about half my stay which was manageable, but something to take into account. My stay was very chill. Kelly is a very welcoming host and very generous with her cooking, her living space, and her company. I had fun helping prep hay nets for the horses and checking the chickens' nests for eggs each day. Kelly even gave me a couple of lessons on riding and groundwork, and we got to go for a nice long ride one day during my stay! Definitely would recommend this farm for those looking to learn more about horses and get a bit of experience with these creatures in an easygoing, friendly environment.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Willapa Bay, learning everything from animal husbandry to food preservation. The generosity and patience displayed by everyone on the farm was refreshing. Overall my favorite part of working on the farm was the fires we would have, sometimes with company from the harvest hosts which would make an intriguing mix of different perspectives. This was a wonderful farm to have my first WWOOFing experience, and I am entirely grateful for Deb, Heather, and Rosie.

I loved my time at Song Haven Farm and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. Mark and Michele are highly knowledgeable and always answered my questions with such clarity. They made even complicated concepts feel approachable which was so meaningful to me since I came to the farm without any prior farming experience. Everyday we had such meaningful conversations that made the work day fly by. There is so much to learn on the farm and Mark and Michele are such willing teachers. While being on the farm for about 3 weeks I gained experience with alternative building practices, fermentation, cooking, animal husbandry, the logistics behind running a market garden and so much more! I feel so privileged to have had such a diverse experience here. SongHaven Farm is filled with so much love. I felt so at home here and will absolutely be coming back in the future. If you have the opportunity to spend time at the farm, you would be remiss to pass it up.
