I couldn't have imagined a better first woofing experience! The team at Morse Brook Farm were all so welcoming and communicative that the transition into this new experience was seamless. This place felt like home so quickly because of their willingness to have me and any other woofer be apart of the team. They are all dedicated to the work they do and sharing this passion with others. The team would always take the time to explain how the farm worked and answer any questions I had. I learned so much about sheep, lambing, pasture management, herding dogs and much more in my short time here. Aside from that, this farm is probably the most beautiful piece of land I have ever seen. Much of my downtime was spent just hiking the hills and forests right outside my door, though there are also many other hiking opportunities nearby as well. Highly recommend Morse Brook Farm!!

Communication is well done here with the farm owner and crew. There was a briefing meeting wherein the owner goes through expectations and finds out what I wanted to learn more about when I first arrived. There is flexibility in the type of work that I did and the timing of the work. I worked 8-1 on the weekdays with some days going a bit longer or shorter depending on what was needed and what I felt like I could do - I never felt pressured to do more than this. I also could have adjusted the timing if I needed to. I appreciated the opportunities to learn more or less about particular aspects of the farm. Farm was operating to gear production to 2-3 markets on the weekend so Thursdays and Fridays focus on getting ready for those. Other days are a mix of projects from seedings/potting up, infrastructure, watering, and of course weeding. Markets are optional for WWOOFers - I went 4 times over the time period and enjoyed assisting with the entire process. Overall there is a lot of care that goes into the hands-on aspects and relating those to learning. I would return here.

This was such a wonderful first WWOOFing experience!! I had the opportunity to stay with Kristen + family and learn so much from each of them on their beautiful homestead. Kristen was very communicative and clear on what the day’s tasks were and provided endless guidance along the way. This homestead provides the perfect place for a reset. I got to work with my hands, take care of the sweet animals, and learn many new skills. We fed the animals, groomed the horses, had a yoga session, did trail maintenance, moved dirt and hay, laid compost, made tea bags and bone broth, and so much more. They were also so gracious to give me ample time to explore the surrounding areas and gave loads of awesome recommendations. Not to mention that the accommodation was more than fantastic and the meals were even better. This family does a great job at balancing work and play as it was such a joy to hang out with the 3 kids and truly feel that child-like spark again. We even had a routine of tea time (almost) every night where we had great conversations and so so many laughs. I’ve come away from this experience with so much more than learning how to work on a homestead— they genuinely made me feel like part of the family with each meal we shared and even a trip to the beach for a cold (and I mean cold) plunge. I feel truly honored to have had this experience with a family that values togetherness, hard work, communication, playfulness, and sincerity. I could go on and on, so I’ll stop he...

really incredible farm and community outreach/work happening here. Dennis is real passionate about his work, on the farm and the media work, very generous, and a great host. Highly recommend staying here if you're a new or experienced wwoofer, looking to learn some permaculture tips, get your hands dirty, and spend time around high scale podcast, audio and video production work. I can't wait to see how the farm grows, evolves over the coming months and years, a lot of fun projects happening there!

Super super cool, Shana is awe inspiring and wise. Be prepared for a rough off-grid experience (no running water or toilet). So much to learn from Shana and her way with the land and animals. She's also, like, a trailblazing scholar in the agroforestry field, if you can find someone cooler lmfk. Hope to return inshahallah!

I spent 2 weeks at the farm after Robert reached out to see if I was interested. My main job was cutting up fire wood (chainsaw) and splitting which is my "happy place" and was able to carry out this task at my own pace . I also helped with the morning and evening chores relating to the animals on the property. The hosts were very friendly and helpful having done so for years..and we're happy to pick me up and drop me off at the closest train station. I enjoyed my stay and would visit again if the opportunity arose ...

It was very kind of Nancy to let me come just for the day to explore her lovely farm, to see if it would’ve a fit for us. There’s so much to see and do, and I know when I return I will be very busy. Nancy is AWESOME. She’s got a true Capricorn spirit - grounded to Earth, yet flexible, open-minded, and very willing to accommodate. Nancy is direct, which I LOVE because I need explicit direction. She is not going to leave you guessing about what she expects. She’s got a great balance of firm, but gentle. We had a lot of laughs, and I felt safe to just be my weird self. I can’t wait to go back and team up with Nancy and Sunshine Farm to absorb all of her immense wisdom. She’s a human library of organic farming information, mixed with the coziness of dear friend. ** her pets are also super sweet!! You won’t be disappointed and you will not be bored, if you choose Sunshine Farm! Happy Farming

El Milagro is a great place to get some learning and some working done. Chase is a good host. It’s a beautiful piece of property. Chase has a great vision for it and possesses the dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm required for it to succeed. All around enriching experience. The pond area has gotta be one of the most relaxing spots in the area. Top notch bird watching.

My stay at Harvest Moon Homestead was everything I had hoped for and more! Caroline and Travis were incredibly welcoming and I felt right at home. We gained lots of hands-on experience with planting dahlia tubers, seeding and transplanting starters, bouquet making and prepping the beds for the coming season. The work was not too strenuous and we were always accompanied by their sweet animals. A highlight for me during my stay was going to the saturday market in Arcata where we helped sell bouquets and had time to explore other vendors’ offerings. Travis was an exceptional chef and our fridge and pantry were kept stocked with fresh, nutritious food. The housing accomodations were cute and tidy, I absolutely loved staying in the yurt and falling asleep looking at the moon and stars. I highly recommend WWOOFing at Harvest Moon Homestead if you're looking to be close to nature, be with kind people who are passionate about what they do, enjoy a slower pace of living and grow your knowledgebase of flower farming! 10/10!

We had wonderful time with Kevin and Denise. We stayed in their beautiful home and shared many delicious meals with them. Our work consisted of weeding, setting up netting for peonies, and planting dahlias. Kevin was so great to work with and went out of his way to be informative about the farming techniques they have landed on (he even taught us how to drive a tractor!). Most projects we worked along side him and all the while he was eager to teach! Our accommodations were clean and comfortable, and we would recommend a stay at Courter Country Farms to everyone!

Sheila is brilliant at what she does! There is loads to learn from her, and her nursery is the perfect setting to do it in. Sheila is kind and generous. I volunteered for only a couple of days, and she was flexible in organizing logistics and alternative ways of volunteering.
