We are a small off-grid market veggie and award winning legal regenerative cannabis farm in the redwood country of Northern California. Our farm is designed and developed around homesteading, sustainable living and permaculture goals. We are surrounded by healthy forest and creek environments in a dirt road rural neighborhood 15 minutes from the nearest town. We have year round gardens and food production, but focus much of our farming energy on the May through October season of our farmer's market. Activities include: Nursery care and plant propagation. Planting, care, cultivation, and harvesting of annual and perennial vegetable production crops. Preparation and development of garden beds. Care and harvest of fruit and berry crops. Care of chickens, moving of mobile chicken coop. Care of goats and possibly milking.
We apologize in advance if we don't get back to you right away. With the duties of the farm and two small children, answering every email can sometimes slip through the cracks. Please be patient with us or send out a reminder if you don't hear back.
We expect our wwoofers to be consistent and hard working during their working times, interested in learning homesteading and farming skills, friendly and respectful of others and self motivated. Please be able to provide references. Wwoofers are hosted March through November, 20 hours a week. Accommodations consist of a restored airstream trailer for full season interns and a small cabin (pictured) for shorter stays. Your own transportation is recomended, we are rural and without public transportation. Children are welcome. No Pets please. Meals during work time and basic foodstuffs (grains and beans) can be provided, as well as garden produce, eggs, and goat dairy products.
We are half an hour from the lost coast. There are numerous world class hiking, biking and wilderness trails along the largest section of wilderness coastline in the continental United States. There are rivers with seasonal swimming holes and incredible redwood groves all within a short drive from the farm. Thanks for looking, your help would be greatly appreciated.
