We are a 102 acre, highly diversified certified-organic farm located on an island in the St. Lawrence River in northern NY. Our land is comprised of pasture, beaver ponds, woods and rocky ridges. Our products include organic fruits, vegetables, goat, beef, eggs, and U-pick opportunities in our Edible Forest Garden. We offer farm tours, workshops, and on-farm rustic camping. A small wind turbine and solar array produce all our power.We accept Wwoofers year-round. Work/learning opportunities vary with the season, the farm's needs, and the interest of the wwoofer and may include: vegetable seeding, planting, maintenance, harvest and season extension; edible forest planning, planting, maintaining, and harvesting; livestock care including management intensive grazing; stocking farm-stand, marketing, publicity, helping with farm tours and special events; machinery repair and modification; farm construction including animal housing, fences, feeders; edible forest construction projects including seating, stone paths, corduroy roads.We generally need two to four apprentices at a time. Two rooms and camping are available. Stays may vary from 1 to 2 weeks to a month or season.Boating, swimming hiking and biking are nearby. We can provide boats, bicycles and snow-shoes, and some transportation.
