In August 2020 our house, barn, greenhouse and farm were destroyed in the California Lightening fires. We are in the long process of rebuilding. We currently have fruit trees, berry bushes, a garden with row crops (tomatoes, pumpkins, squash, beets, cucumbers), a horse, goats and chickens. Since the fire we are focusing on rebuilding structures as well as forest rehabilitation. Our farm has been in our family for four generations. Two generations are still making the farm it was. Full of joy with good intentions producing beautiful produce for all, with sweet farm animals that are here for all to enjoy. We lost our chickens in the fire as well as our cow herd. Still have a small herd of goats and a horse. 3 dogs also live on property and get along with everyone. We are temporarily living in manufactured home and trailers. This year we will be rebuilding our greenhouse, pasture fences, foundation for two houses and milling wood. We are planting and harvesting veggies, and maintaining the fruit trees (apples, figs, pears, persimmons, lemon, and pomelo) and grape vines that survived the fire. We are looking for strong WWOOFers that can prune, chainsaw, weed whack, cutting brush, build new fencing, mill lumber with our sawyer, moving large long green heavy lumber and has building skills.  There's also garden weeding, and watering; animal care (cleaning, mucking, feeding, watering, grooming) . Occasionally we have visiting children who love to ride and you would be responsible for walking the young rides around the property. Muck Boots are recommended in the winter. Easygoing, adaptable and ready to be involved in the farm life. Sharing is a keyword of our life! Experienced riders are welcomed to ride Pico, our quarter horse. Although the redwoods were destroyed in the fire, life is coming back to the forest. There are possibles of hiking, beach day and city trips. Visiting elephant seals at Ano Nuevo. The idea here is to have some work and fun everyday! For housing, there is a small room available and the possibility of tent camping in the garden. We are located between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay, California, 3.5 miles on a dirt road from the Pacific Ocean. We are looking forward to seeing you in the Santa Cruz Mountains. English spoken. I had an amazing experience at Christine's! She and Tom were lovely, giving us rides whenever we needed them or to go sightseeing. I loved taking care of the animals, working in the garden, riding Piccos, and sharing in farm life. The place is wonderful, and I have fantastic memories of this experience! I highly recommend it!

This was my first WOOFING experience and it was a very enjoyable one. From the onset, Christine was kind and helpful. She explained clearly the tasks assigned to me while being generous and open about sharing facilities. Through the course of my 2 weeks’ visit, I found myself bonding with the animals that I was helping to take care of. I loved grooming Picos, the horse. What a privilege it was to surrounded by redwoods and so much nature. Above all, getting to know Christine was the icing on the cake. I enjoyed listening to her share stories of her life and it was gratifying to discover that we had much in common. It was great meeting the other members of her farm as well as of her family who came to visit. It was my pleasure to introduce her to reflexology: I was so glad she was open to receiving my sessions. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I would happily repeat.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Christine’s farm! From the moment I arrived, Christine made me feel incredibly welcome, providing plenty of delicious food and fresh vegetables straight from the garden—we could pick them ourselves and cook, which was such a joy. The daily activities were both fun and engaging: cleaning the chicken and sheep houses, gardening, and even apple picking and making apple rings. Tom and Angel were also very amazing hosts, showing me how to safely cut a redwood tree—what an exciting experience! The whole stay was filled with learning, laughter, and a true sense of connection with the farm and its beautiful surroundings. I only stayed for three days, but I genuinely wish I had planned for longer. I am so grateful for this experience and will absolutely apply to stay again if I get the chance. Highly recommend Christine’s farm to anyone looking for a meaningful and fun WWOOFing experience!

We had a lovely stay at this farm, good food to eat, kind people. They took us on fun outings to the city and let us borrow their car to go surfing. The work was simple enough and we definitely enjoyed getting to know their horse.
