My experience here was wonderful. Bev and Steve are remarkably generous, caring, and attentive hosts. Bev prepared delicious meals and always made sure everything fit my dietary needs. I visited during Thanksgiving week, and they were kind enough to offer a day off for the holiday. Steve took me on a beautiful hike along the canyon and creek, and later we enjoyed a memorable Thanksgiving dinner with a family friend. On the day I left, Bev packed food for my trip, and when I missed my bus, Steve waited with me for an entire hour until the next one arrived. The farm itself is stunning, lush, diverse, and full of quiet surprises. If you’re lucky, you might catch sight of deer moving around or hawks circling overhead. Overall, my stay was a truly warm and restorative experience, and I’m grateful for the kindness and hospitality I received.

Bev and Steve were both gracious hosts. Help expectations were clear (~6 hours/day) and the schedule was flexible enough to allow me to do my remote job as well while I was there. I was there for about a week but was still able to help out with a fun variety of tasks (clearing brush/trimming oak trees, planting new veggie seedlings, mixing up compost, building up walkways near the beds, harvesting some veggies, etc.). Steve had an incredible wealth of knowledge to share. This is a great place to visit if you hope to learn about organic farming/gardening on a smaller homestead level. I was able to go check out a beautiful nearby canyon and the Monterey art museum with them during my visit and they helped out with some car troubles I was having. The food was also delicious. Thank you again to Bev and Steve!

This was my first wwoof, and I am so grateful it was with Bev and Steve! They are wonderful hosts, warm, friendly and great teachers. They have built such an amazing home. Their property overlooks a beautiful canyon, so it feels so relaxing to enjoy the views while working. Most days I would work 3 hours in the morning, then we had lunch together around noon. I took a break until 2:30-3pm to avoid the hottest part of the day, and then do another 3 hours of work. But Bev and Steve were very accommodating with the schedule, and even let me swap out my days off so I could go hike in Carmel when it was less crowded. Bev is an amazing cook, and prepared delicious home cooked food for us everyday. She is very caring, making sure to ask if I needed anything and share recs of places to visit in the area. Steve is a patient and attentive teacher who generously shares his deep knowledge of the local plants and area. His attentiveness showed in the way he gently offered tips to improve my posture and movement, helping me handle tools more effectively and avoid unnecessary strain. I wholeheartedly recommend wwoofing here, and hope I can go visit them again soon.

I felt immediately welcomed by Steve and Beverly. I had a room and a bathroom at my disposal. Bev cooked really amazing tasty meals, while Steve and I were working in the garden. I removed a whole bunch of weed, sifted compost, clipped lemon tree, built a net cover for apricot trees with Steve, cleared out leftover branches and cut grass with weed whacker. They were really amazing and generous hosts. They gave some great tips on locations to visit in my free time and even took me on an excursion. Overall, I can only recommend.

Bev and Steve are amazing hosts! There is much to learn on their land from composting, grafting, and plant identification. I valued how passionate and knowledgeable Steve was while we were out in the garden, or on day trips around the area. Bev cooked delicious vegetarian meals, some of which I hope to recreate! So much generosity and a wonderful first WWOOF experience.

This was a great experience in every way! Steve and Beverly were very welcoming and made sure I was comfortable. Both are very knowledgeable about plants and the earth and take time to share their knowledge. Tasks included weeding out invasive plants, pruning an olive tree, getting garden beds ready for planting, composting, etc. The food was amazing-always having a home cooked, nutritious meal at lunch and dinner with plenty to eat on your own in between if hungry. The living accommodations were very comfortable with your own bedroom and bathroom. The entire experience was very positive and I hope to return in the future.
