We raise organically-fed and pastured poultry and livestock (including fiber animals) following organic and sustainable principles. In addition to the animals, we have honeybees, produce, eggs, berries and an orchard. We sell our products as well as those of local artists in a farm store. We are located in the rolling hills of the Kettle Moraine area with Holy Hill and local lakes/parks nearby with hiking trails and canoe rentals. We are also within an hour’s drive of Milwaukee and Madison and all that they offer. We welcome all lengths of visits, however we do request that if coming for local day visits you try to come more than once due to the time spent explaining how we do things! We are a Christian family with Christian values, and treat others with respect, show hospitality and kindness. Our Farm Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-4YFkUjzWQ Extra help is always welcome, however more hands are needed at the following times: Late March-End of May- Lambing & Shearing Springtime- Readying the garden/planting, readying areas for baby chicks, pigs & pastured animals May 17th and the week prior- Help for our Spring Multi-Farm Tour Summer- Making hay, processing chickens, harvesting from the garden End of August- Shearing and getting ready for Sheep & Wool Festival September 27th and the week prior- Help for our Fall Harvest Festival Fall - Harvesting of the garden , apples and poultry, closing down the garden for the winter, taking down the pig area We are trying to increase our social media presence, if you would be interested in helping us accomplish this please consider wwoofing or a summer internship here. Don't worry there would still be plenty of time with our animals or for you to explore the area. On the farm we have sheep, chickens, and beehives. Additionally during the summer we have turkeys and pigs. Skills we would find useful: Gardening, care and maintenance of animals, carpentry, knowledge of computers and social media, enthusiasm and willingness to learn Skills we are able to teach: sustainable pastured animal husbandry, rotational grazing, non-medicated bee care, organic gardening We expect 5-6 hours during work days (5-6 days a week) but start-time is flexible as are tasks. Please bring season-appropriate work attire, sturdy work boots, and gloves. We can provide additional warm weather gear (jackets etc.). Sleeping arrangements: We have three rooms available, two double beds and a single bed, available to WWOOFers. You can also sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag or can camp during warmer seasons. Feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have! No smoking Organic methods: We use mulch in the garden to hold moisture in and lessen weed growth. We utilize managed intensive grazing to benefit our pasture both through grazing/plant growth stimulation and animals' natural fertilization. Rotating chickens and free ranging helps to reduce our insect/pest load. Certifications: We follow organic principles but found formal certification cost prohibitive. All our animals are fed certified-organic feed. Internet access available

This was my first WWOOF and it was great! Jeanne and Steve are wonderful people with a wonderful farm. I learned a lot about all the different animals and aspects of working on and running a farm and Im very grateful to have spend nearly a month here.

This farm was the first farm that I WWOOFed at, and I absolutely loved it. Jeanne was very understanding and made me feel very comfortable during my two-week visit. I was given a wide range of tasks, from helping unload hay bales to helping plant new crops in their garden. My favorite part was hanging out with the sheep, feeding them, and collecting eggs from their portable chicken coop. Having tasks that I could work on over the span of a couple of days, as well as tasks that needed more immediate attention, was oddly comforting. If you're an experienced WWOOFer, or if this is your first time and you want to learn while putting yourself to work for a couple of weeks, I would highly recommend this farm. On top of that, Jeanne fosters a great community. A WWOOFer who was staying there during my visit showed me many beautiful and fun things to do in the area. Overall, I highly recommend this farm to anyone who is interested in learning about animals and wants to put themselves to work for a couple of weeks. Thank you, Jeanne and Steve, for giving me this amazing experience. I loved learning everything you taught me (and that card game was really fun)!

I had a great visit at this farm! Though I only was there for a week I learned a lot about how they work with their livestock, sheep, chickens and geese during my stay, and the ins and outs of their farm operation. Jeanne is an incredible resource. Every question she was happy to answer and I felt that I was treated with respect and care as a wwoofer. What you put in is what you get out on this farm and I am glad that I came!

I had a fantastic experience at this farm. I was here for about 2.5 months from the beginning of August to the middle of October. In that time I was able to learn about rotational grazing for sheep, how to treat sheep for parasites, raising chickens, pigs, and turkeys, and much more. I came in with a specific interest in sheep and Jeanne was very accommodating and was always willing to teach me what I wanted to know about raising them. I was also able to help with the Fall Harvest Festival which is an awesome event the farm puts on and if you get a chance to help out or stop by I would highly recommend doing so. Beyond the livestock, there are opportunities to learn about a number of other farming tasks, so it’s a great place to explore a variety of interests. Jeanne is a great host and I would highly recommend helping at her farm if you get a chance. Many of the meals I had were made with food directly from the farm and it was always delicious.

Wow, where to begin! This was our (my gf and I's) 2nd WWOOFing experience ever and it blew our exceptions in so many ways. So much opportunity to learn, work on things we enjoy/feel called to do. I was heavily drawn to building things in the barn, fixing and organizing. Got to experience first hand handling animals like chickens, sheep, even bees, and pigs. Wonderful time full of joy, sharing stories, and more. My gf was drawn towards the sheep, wool cleaning, weeding, and helping out with photos for the award winning sheep. Beyond that, the atmosphere was like joining a family. Jeanna and Steve were great hosts, great food we would sometimes help out making (GREAT Raw milk if you're into that!) and just the freshest food. Jeanna knows everything about the farm like the back of her hand. Every animal behavior, timing of sheep rotations, she lives and breaths the land and is happy to teach you just about anything she knows about farming, and especially the Icelandic sheep . Sharing stories around the table, and Steve has an endless supply of Dad jokes it's wild how good he is at pulling them out. It was definitely hard work at times, but even more rewarding. I would say one of the best things from a work perspective is the ability to work on a multitude of projects and interests. Cleaning, working with animals, building, cooking, social media, admin work, fixing things when they break, weeding, gardening, and probably more. We'll def be back. Thank you again!!!

I spend a month here and had a wonderful experience! From the beginning, Jeanne, Steve, and the other WWOOFers were extremely kind and welcoming. Jeanne was a great host who always provided delicious home cooked meals. There is so much to do at the farm with all the different animals and the garden. I most enjoyed being able to pick Jeanne’s brain about all things farming, she has a wealth of knowledge. I got to help work the multi-farm tour by giving tours of the farm and really enjoyed getting to interact with the local community and share what I had learned about the farm during my stay. Highly recommend a visit here!
