Sustainable, Year-Round Membership Farm Raising Beef, Pork, Dairy, Chicken, Vegetables, Fruits,
Missouri
35 minute drive to FIFA 2026 games in Kansas City!
We are a highly diverse, organically operated family farm just north of Kansas City Missouri and on Smithville Lake. We are very interested in hosting wwoofers for the market gardens, cooking, and/or construction, although wwoofers can assist with any part of our farm that is needed.
On the produce side we have two 30’x96’ high tunnels plus a market garden, a micro orchard, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and herbs. We utilize and can teach Conner Crickmore’s Neversink Farm masterclass course and Jean-Martin Fortier’s Market Gardener Institute.
On the livestock side we have a herd of A2/A2 exclusively hay and grass fed dairy cows, goats, heritage hogs and pasture raised poultry that we rotate in 20’x40’ Prairie Schooners. We also have a herd of grass fed beef cows at our sister farm. We process a small amount of dairy and specialty meats on the farm.
We manage the gardens and animals organically, focusing on soil health. We create our own compost to use on the gardens, use a program of beneficial pests to combat pests, weed by both hand and cultivators, silage tarps or flame, use cover crops and limit tilling as we work towards no till. We preserve all extra produce by canning, freezing or dehydrating.
We are located less than 30 minutes from downtown Kansas City. Our farm backs up to Smithville Lake that is teaming with wildlife and has miles of both improved and unimproved trails and excellent foraging.
All of our products are available to our private membership farm members that pick up here on the farm once a week. We are a busy family of 7, five of whom live on site and work on the farm. Our farm is going through a major expansion and will be adding more community events over the next year.
The daily roles are seeding, transplanting, weeding, watering, pest control, harvesting, feeding and watering livestock, moving rotational grazing fencing & birds, weed eating & possibly cooking, construction, or tractor work depending on experience. If interested we can also teach milking, dairy processing, sausage & bacon making, canning and other food preservation.
Lodging is in a separate house and is a private bedroom and a shared bath with potentially one other wwoofer, although safety is of utmost importance and we will modify to fit the situation. Farm raised food is provided including but not limited to proteins, dairy, eggs, fruits and vegetables. With our upcoming expansion we would consider someone that might transition into a full time employee that had building, fencing & tractor experience.
This is not required but we would be very interested in anyone that had building experience. We have many small construction projects that we’d love to tackle onsite including construction of geodesic domes, finishing a farm store, fence building and general farm upkeep.
We have children and will be screening people to best fit our situation.
