Our farm description:
We are a Homestead, a beautiful 7 acres in the woods with a short 5 minute walk to Deep River, and a short walk to White Pines Nature Preserve. We also have a stocked pond a stone throw away from house. We have multiple garden areas that are located in different areas of the land. The growing space we are using adds up to about 1/4 acre. We grow a variety of seasonal heirloom vegetables (tomatoes being our favorite), and have now added flowers and medicinal herbs too. We maintain beautiful decorative perennial gardens on the grounds that stay in bloom from spring to late fall. We have a small greenhouse attached to the house where we grow our seedlings and tomatoes.
Our Motto...
Reconnecting with nature and be stewards of the land.
An ecologically friendly rural, homestead
Getting out of the hustle and bustle, into the countryside
A peaceful, natural, and restful, while still nearby and accessible destination.

13. you will be expected to work an average of 6 hours per day, 5 days a week. There will be an hour lunch break and two 15 minute breaks most days. There will not always be the same number of hours worked per day, or the same 5 days per week, (sometimes we will need work more hours on good weather days, work over weekends, work less on bad weather days, etc) This could mean LONG hours some days, SHORT or no hours other days. It is important to understand this, and not plan on just a set Monday to Friday factory-like schedule. 30 hours a week is expected with two days off a week. Let's discuss more when we talk in an interview.
14. We will only assign you projects and work that we are also willing to do ourselves. We expect you to work hard, willingly, and efficiently, and to accomplish the goals we set for you quickly and without complaining. We are hard workers and will expect the same from you.
15. We will have weekly meetings to discuss how things are going, if expectations are being met on both sides, and if we need to change the ways we are communicating work, meals, and everything else.
Communication is VERY important and we would like to always know that you understand the work we are asking you to do, and that we are performing up to what we are expected on our end as well.
Please never feel that you cannot come to us to discuss whatever issues may arise. We are open and willing to talk about anything whether good or bad, as we need to communicate openly to work and live harmoniously together while you are here with us. Have fun here on your own and with us. We have an amazing and beautiful 7 acre property, so near to Pittsboro and many lakes, and so many other things to see, explore, and enjoy.
