A little about me: My name is Becky and I am the owner of French Kiss Farm (FKF). I am 30 years old and live with my boyfriend (28), 4 year old son, and my aunt. I have lived in Normandie, France doing an entensive jumping training program. I have family in the south of France (Narbonne) and frequently visit. I own a Selle Français mare whom I imported in 2021. FKF was originally established in Ocala, FL in 2021 and changed to Bristol, WI in 2022. A little about our farm: We are looking for help around our farm with many different things. We specialize in horses and horse care. Some things we will need help with are: - fencing installation - landscaping - generalized horse care which include feeding the horses, maintaining the pastures, stall cleaning, etc. (this can be taught) **Would love to find someone who does interior design. We need to repaint our house and update flooring** Must be willing to operate a smaller tractor Must be okay either working alone or with others Hours are dependent on our current projects or what time of year it is. Approximately 6 hours of work per day with 2 days off. For work, we start around 6:30/7am. We get the horses outside right away and do the morning feeding. After morning feeding there will be 9-11 horse stalls/box to clean. Finally, evening feeding starts about 1 hour before sun set. And horses come back inside right before the dark. Any days worked/off usually works for us! We are pretty flexible unless there’s a specific request if we need. Please be open to working weekends as well. *Horses are labor intensive! Feeding the horses and cleaning the stalls are labor intensive. Please be prepared for that! As for meals, we don’t always eat together and we definitely do not eat formally. Sometimes my schedule is weird so I kind of eat whenever I get a chance. We have a spare bedroom in our home. It is fully furnished with a full size bed, tv, sauna, etc. Shared space includes the kitchen, bathrooms, living room area, laundry, etc. Also enjoy our newly updated sauna! FYI- I have 7 cats and 2 dogs in the house 🙂 We have 40 chickens 🐓 Attractions: *Train station in Antioch just 10 minutes away that brings you to downtown Chicago. This train only runs during the week. I would be willing to exchange work days to the weekend so you can travel during the week. Otherwise there is another train in Kenosha to Chicago on weekends. *Six Flags Great America (rollercoaster and water park) (20 minutes by car) *Gurnee Mills Mall (15 minutes by car) *Milwaukee (45 minutes by car) We are willing to drop and pick up once per week. Other acceptions where tag alongs are welcome 🙂 Thank you! Organic methods: Growing a vegetable garden, horses grazing on organic grass (no pesticides are used), and no other chemicals are used on our property. Certifications: Never took a certified organic class Current projects: cleaning stalls, help clean up farm inside and outside, landscaping during the warmer months, handy work Internet access available

This farm has a special vibe. The horses exude calm, the chickens roam freely. I didn’t come in with knowledge of horses (or really, cats) but the group of creatures there were all friendly and gentle. The people—Becky, Nancy, Seth, Julian— have an informal, welcoming vibe… Becky is really friendly! For me, it all added up to a low stress environment that I easily fit into, and that i didn’t want to leave when my two weeks were up. Working next to (and for) those big ol horses was really pleasant, but it’s no secret, I made my first true cat friend there and i’ll never forget her. Awwwwww

I spent a month and a half on this farm and had an amazing experience. I met wonderful people, and the family is incredibly welcoming and kind. This was my first Wwoofing experience, and I couldn’t be happier with it! I learned so much during my stay. I would 100% recommend this place if you enjoy farm work. I had never worked on a farm or in the equestrian field before, but I adapted very quickly and felt comfortable right away. I’m extremely happy with my stay and grateful for everything I learned. Thank you again for this wonderful experience!

I spent here 3 wonderful months where I've learned a lot about horses and all the other works needed in a farm; the people there are super nice, from Becky and her family to the horses owners. Becky was always super nice and it was a pleasure for me to meet her; she was always more than kind with me, even when I caused a couple of troubles, and she helped me to learn more about horses and improve my skills with them. Her boyfriend Seth was also an inspiration for me; we worked together for more than a month on various projects for the farm and from him I learned thousands of things about constructions. All those lessons that I've learned in those three months are going to be useful for the rest of my life and, once again, I'm gonna thank Becky, and all the people who lives in the farm, for hosting me for all the summer; I hope to have the possibility to come back as soon as possible.

My experience at FKF was incredible. The house is clean and comfortable and feels like home. The horses and their owners are adorable. The work done during the week is fun and suitable for all levels. My heartfelt thanks to Becky and Nancy for welcoming me with such generosity and kindness. Becky gives us complete confidence with the horses and helps us to progress with them if we wish. I will never forget this second family who gave me one of the best experiences of my life.

i had such a good time at becky’s farm! i enjoyed the routine of have set hours and days off. the work wasn’t hard and cleaning stalls can be kind of meditative! the accommodations were very clean and comfortable and spacious. becky and nancy were so accommodating to my dietary restrictions and always asked if i needed anything from the store. they were kind of enough to teach me how to ride and i even made good friends with some of the boarders! thanks again :)
