Join us in beautiful Northern California for experience in a family garden! Hello from Northern California! Our names are Andrea and Jeff. We live on a beautiful 3 acre property in Humboldt County. Humboldt is known for its giant Redwood forest and gorgeous coast line! We live in a large farmhouse, where we would be honored to host someone and foster learning small scale gardening skills, meeting incredible people from our community, and experiencing Humboldt County in all it beauty. We have a large 3 acre fruit and vegetable garden, fruit orchard, and 40+ chickens of all different breeds. We also have a sweet puppy and two snuggly cats. We enjoy making art and doing projects in the garden and around our home that are inspired by our landscape and daily life. We would love to open our home to someone that is interested in helping with garden chores and animal care (watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, preserving, raising a new flock of baby chicks, etc.), as well as helping with small construction projects around the property. About us: Andrea is a small business owner, as well as a farm and nature lover. She owns a clothing boutique with a mix of locally made goods and featured artists, as well as well known brands. She is also a knitwear and clothing designer with her sister. She and her sister work with a women's cooperative to bring to life their knitwear designs. They have been working sustainably with the same cooperative, giving job opportunities to over 200 women, for 30+ years. Jeff is an independent welder and fabricator, and a blacksmith by trade. He has been working independently as a handyman on construction and fabrication jobs for many years creating gorgeous gates, staircases, railings and more, for community members all over Humboldt County. Full disclosure: we are fully vaccinated and require that someone be vaccinated or have a negative covid test result before coming to work with us. We look forward to your inquiries and hearing from you! Andrea and Jeff Organic methods: We are not certified organic but we do not use any chemicals in the garden and only use organic compost we make ourselves and organic fertilizers . Andrea and Jeff have the most wonderful farm and the most hospitable accommodations. What was originally supposed to be a 2 week stay for me turned into roughly 2 months. Chores included lots of watering and weeding the gardens, I also got to help out chopping wood and using the chipper. Andrea showed me how to propagate roses and hydrangeas and Jeff helped me to change the oil in my car :) We ate dinner every night as a group. The highlight for me was definitely the community that their farm fostered, I loved meeting so many wonderful people and making lifelong friends.

My stay here has been wonderful! Andrea and Jeff are both very hard workers and have so much knowledge to share, Andrea is very organized and very accommodating. I 100% would recommend this farm to everyone, I ended up staying longer than my original dates and it seems that most people who come here decide to stay longer so that speaks for its self.. Thank you Andrea and Jeff!

I could not be more grateful for my time on this farm. Andrea and Jeff are the kindest, most welcoming people and they truly make you feel like a part of their family. They have the most beautiful property and doing work in Andrea's garden was the highlight of my summer! Most often I was watering, weeding, harvesting, and processing a variety of different plants, and when the rain started to come we would help Andrea with her crafts while drinking tea! So lovely. Andrea also cooked dinner for anyone who wanted it with veggies from the garden and we would all eat together family style, and as a vegan Andrea was extremely accommodating, often buying me fun vegan treats she thought I might like from the store :) Andrea and Jeff really do make you feel welcome and at home, and are so much fun to hang out with! From agate hunting with Jeff at the beach to late night cribbage games, there is no end to a good time on their farm. And they have adorable animals to cuddle with as an added bonus. If you are looking to WWOOF in Humboldt, this is the spot!!!! Seriously could not recommend them more, you'll not only gain amazing experiences on their farm, but forever family as well :)

Andrea and Jeff’s farm and home are wonderful. They made me feel so welcome and comfortable. There were many opportunities to learn in the garden and help in a meaningful way. They are kind and educational and are perfect wwoof hosts whether you’re visiting Humboldt, live in Humboldt, are new to wwoof or not. Very grateful for my experience there :)

We are so beyond grateful for the time we got to spend here! Jeff and Andrea are two of the kindest humans and made us feel so at home our entire stay. Their farm/home is something special, and you can tell they put so much love and care into every aspect of it. The meals Andrea cooked were truly some of the best we've had in quite a while- many of the ingredients being fresh from the garden! Most evenings we'd all eat together, and the dinners were always so wholesome and lovely. The work we did was pleasant and mostly involved tasks such as watering the garden, cleaning the chicken coop, weeding, etc. They also have some of the sweetest, most precious pets, and it was such a joy to spend time with them during our stay! We are, and will forever be, so very appreciative for such a wonderful first wwoofing experience, and for Jeff and Andrea's warmth and generosity. We'd wholeheartedly recommend them & their farm to anyone!
