Join us in beautiful Northern California for experience in a family garden!
Hello from Northern California!
Our names are Andrea and Jeff.
We live on a beautiful 3 acre property in Humboldt County. Humboldt is known for its giant Redwood forest and gorgeous coast line! We live in a large farmhouse, where we would be honored to host someone and foster learning small scale gardening skills, meeting incredible people from our community, and experiencing Humboldt County in all it beauty.
We have a large 3 acre fruit and vegetable garden, fruit orchard, and 40+ chickens of all different breeds. We also have a sweet puppy and two snuggly cats. We enjoy making art and doing projects in the garden and around our home that are inspired by our landscape and daily life.
We would love to open our home to someone that is interested in helping with garden chores and animal care (watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, preserving, raising a new flock of baby chicks, etc.), as well as helping with small construction projects around the property.
About us:
Andrea is a small business owner, as well as a farm and nature lover. She owns a clothing boutique with a mix of locally made goods and featured artists, as well as well known brands. She is also a knitwear and clothing designer with her sister. She and her sister work with a women's cooperative to bring to life their knitwear designs. They have been working sustainably with the same cooperative, giving job opportunities to over 200 women, for 30+ years.
Jeff is an independent welder and fabricator, and a blacksmith by trade. He has been working independently as a handyman on construction and fabrication jobs for many years creating gorgeous gates, staircases, railings and more, for community members all over Humboldt County.
Full disclosure: we are fully vaccinated and require that someone be vaccinated or have a negative covid test result before coming to work with us.
We look forward to your inquiries and hearing from you!
