Adama Farm is a new 2-acre no-till farm focused on organic and regenerative farming practices.
My name is Jessi — a former WWOOFer turned full-time farm owner and farmer. After several years of apprenticing and working on farms across the U.S., I now operate Adama Farm full time.
I am seeking WWOOFers who are genuinely interested in no-till production farming and are serious about taking their skills to the next level.
🌱 Commitment Expectations:
WWOOFing at Adama Farm is a serious commitment. Please do not apply if you are not ready to fully engage.
I rely heavily on WWOOFers to honor their commitments — it takes a village, and we operate as a team. In return, WWOOFers will gain extensive hands-on experience and leave with the skills needed to manage a small production farm or start their own.
Preferred stay:
• Full season: April 1 – November 1 (priority)
• Short-term stays: minimum 1 month
🌾 Apprenticeship-Style Experience:
This experience closely resembles an apprenticeship. WWOOFers will gain a full understanding of small-scale production farming through:
Daily field work
Rotating responsibilities
Managerial roles
Educational discussions and hands-on training
⏰ Work Hours:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
(8:00 AM start early spring & late fall)
Saturday: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
(Farmers market, 1–2x per month. WWOOFers rotate working the Saturday farmers market)
Sundays off.
🧺 Farmers Markets:
WWOOFers rotate working the Saturday Park Ridge Farmers Market and receive modest pay. Markets provide valuable experience in customer interaction, sales skills, and understanding production planning.
🚜 About the Farm:
Approximately 1.5 acres are in active production, growing no-till vegetables and cut flowers for:
Farmers markets
Wholesale outlets
CSA program
On-farm store
WWOOFers will spend most days in the field with Jessi preparing beds, planting, weeding, pruning, and harvesting.
🍎 Fruit & Perennials:
In addition to vegetables and flowers, the farm includes:
Peach, Asian pear, cherry, and apple trees, plus elderberries, aronia berries, and rhubarb. WWOOFers may learn about perennial systems if interested.
🌱 Infrastructure & Animals:
Seeding greenhouse for all field crops
Farm cats for pest control
~16 chickens with rotating chores (feeding, eggs, coop cleaning)
High likelihood of baby chicks in spring
🔄 Rotational Roles:
WWOOFers rotate through:
Wash / Pack Manager
Greenhouse Manager
Animal Chores
Farm Store Manager
Flower Manager (seeding, harvesting, bouquet making)
Daily field work includes bed prep, transplanting, harvesting, and farm projects.
Jessi typically manages irrigation and CSA operations but will train WWOOFers as appropriate.
🍽️ Food:
Unlimited access to farm vegetables and fruit
Monthly bulk groceries from Costco (mostly organic)
WWOOFers may submit a grocery wish list; please be mindful of the farm’s budget.
🍲 Community:
Monthly optional farm community dinners where we cook and share a meal together.
🏠 Housing:
Comfortable farmhouse housing includes:
2.5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
Full-size and twin beds (likely shared room)
Bedding & towels included
Full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher
Heat, AC, fireplace
Porch and outdoor seating overlooking gardens
WWOOFers may bring personal kitchen items (coffee maker, blender, etc.).
The property also includes a renovated backyard with lawn, shade trees, and seating.
🌿 Property Access:
WWOOFers have access to the entire farm including:
River running through the property
Gazebo
Art studio
Barn
Garden and sitting areas
🗓️ Daily Schedule:
Work begins at 7:00 AM with a morning meeting. A typical day includes harvesting, wash/pack, deliveries, field work, or seeding.
Work ends at 12:00 PM Monday–Friday.
WWOOFers are expected to work hard, stay engaged, and maintain a positive attitude.
📅 Time Off
WWOOFers usually have a full weekend (sat / sun) off, unless working Saturday farmers market.
Additional time off: request 2 weeks in advance
Early departure: 1 month notice required
🌻 About Me
When I’m not farming, I enjoy cooking, photography, reading, painting, running, and spending time by the river. On Sundays I usually attend my local church — WWOOFers are always welcome to join.
On weekends I enjoy visiting local coffee shops, breweries, and taking camping trips.
