Forestry products and veggies

Hola WWOOFers! My partner and I homestead and live on a small forested piece of land where we grow a wide variety of plants. Everything from 100+ year old Cedars to Mushrooms, Celery to Sword Ferns, Strawberries to Kale, just to name a few. The heart of our land stewardship is the growing a healthy, diverse forest ecosystems with native plants. We are family of three plus a dog, hampster and some fish (at the time of this writing).
Currently we need help with gardening, weeding and land care. Our ideal visitor enjoys the company of an energetic five year old, loves an old farm dog, and can cook own meals. We love to share meals too but with a couple of full time working parents we don't always have time to coordinate... We can provide meal supplies from our CSA and staple as well as a great place to cook in the tiny house three burner stove.
Our farming activities range from fence building to weed pulling, composting to light duty construction, forest pruning with hand tools to trail building. We also have typical household and land chores. We love teaching and sharing all aspects of live in a forest setting. From learning about motors for saws, to biodynamic plant relationships, to cover crops. A typical day consists of self focused time in the morning, with structured time in the afternoons to orient a Wwoofer for the coming days activities.
We can offer either tent platforms or the use of an 8x21 a tiny house for housing. The Tiny house has power and water including hot shower, composting toilet, fridge and wifi.
I have a drum set in the basement and love to hear and see live music. Please bring you guitar! Also we salvage lots of construction materials for future building projects on our land. We have countless miles of hiking right out our back door with the Adventure Discovery trail about 3/4 of a mile up the road. The Elwha river is also with in walking distance with some fun (but cold!) swimming holes!

Tyson, Elizabeth and their wild child met us from the first evening with so much care, comfort, and kindness! The accommodations were stellar with a cozy tiny home to ourselves and they were incredibly welcoming in their own space. We were given space for our own ideas on handling projects which gave us a nice feeling of trust and ownership, we felt right at home. Their land is epic with tons of rad projects, and the town and beaches nearby were great! For those feeling collaborative and motivated, we would highly recommend staying with them and we hope to be back!
