Barranquitas Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico
Hola woofers.
Me gusta mucho cocinar.

Pedro is a fantastic host, and a great guide. Tours of San Cristobal Canyon, Toro Negro state forest, Aguas Termales hot springs, and in general getting to see a great side of PR On the farm, while things were a bit hectic initially, we got a lot done, I learned a tremendous amount about composting and making soil, growing plants on steep hills, how to use cover plants, and complimentary planting. The kind of hands on experience that doesnt slip down the "memory hole".
One of my favorite adventures was catching a couple street chickens in Guaynabo, and getting to see em grow.

I had a wonderful experience on Pedro's permaculture farm. He's a good cook and very friendly. The house and accommodations are beautiful. I planted seedlings on two of his terraced gardens and did various repair jobs in my short stay. Pedro has an education in agriculture and I learned about some of the local plants the are used to prevent erosion. Pedro took me and another Woofer to a swimming hole in the local rainforest area near Barranquitas. There was also a hot springs we visited. The mountains must be experienced for their beauty and diversity. I'll be going back in future.
