Agro-ecological production farm in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico
Hello, my name is Alyn and I run a small agro-ecological farm in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. This project grew out of a desire to live a simpler, more intentional lifestyle while working closely with nature and creating a space where people can come together, slow down, and explore themselves. This is not only a farming experience, but a living experience that includes cultural exchange, reflection, and learning through daily life on the land.
Every day on the farm looks different. WWOOFers help with feeding and caring for animals, cooking shared vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch, and light dinner), seeding, transplanting, pruning, weeding, and general maintenance. Tasks may also include fencing, basic plumbing, tool care, and tending shared kitchen and living spaces. This experience is ideal for self-motivated volunteers who enjoy simple living, shared responsibility, and hands-on learning.
The farm is deeply connected to the surrounding community, with local women, farmers, and neighbors often visiting, collaborating, and sharing their knowledge. I am also actively involved in community service, including volunteering at a local feeding center every Tuesday and Thursday. These ongoing relationships create a living, evolving environment where learning and connection unfold organically.
A small cottage is available and can house up to two people at a time. The farm also has space for camping and/or day visits. A newer addition to the property is a tiny home located in a secluded area that is available for rent, featuring a full bathroom, kitchen, and full-size bed. Time outside of work is often spent cooking together, resting, making music, or visiting nearby rivers, waterfalls, and beaches. This experience is best suited for people who are adaptable, grounded, and open to both physical work and personal growth. The maximum stay is two weeks.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by many beautiful places. A nearby bakery is just five minutes away. Rivers and waterfalls such as Charco El Hippie and Las Tinajas are 10–20 minutes away, and the nearest beach is about 10 minutes away. The Naguabo Malecón, with its beachfront restaurants and bars, is five minutes away, while the Kioskos of Luquillo are about 25 minutes away. El Yunque National Rainforest and the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo are approximately 30 minutes away. The Ceiba Ferry Terminal, located 10 minutes away, provides access to the islands of Vieques and Culebra—and much more.

I absolutely loved the time I spent here, and I highly recommend WWOOFing here!! This was my first time WWOOFing, and Alyn was so kind and welcoming, I really couldn’t have asked for a better host. She cares deeply for her community and the environment, and I got to see that through attending some of her family events and volunteering at a local community center to hand out food to people in the area who were sick or elderly. The farm work mostly involved planting, weeding, and feeding and taking care of the animals who are so sweet and full of personality! Tasks were decided on a daily basis and based on what needed to be done that day, so the schedule allowed for down time. We planted corn, beans, squash, sunflowers and lemon trees. The finca is beautiful, and Alyn and her animals made great company. I will really miss being there, and I would love to plan a visit here again!

WWOOFing with Alyn is not only learning farm skills, but contributing to a thriving community of those doing much needed work on the beautiful island they call home. It opened up my world and taught me so much. I deeply appreciate Alyn for sharing this with me! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this farm!!
The moment I was picked up from the airport, I was greeted with warmth from a local volunteer (love you LOTS Noelia!!). Alyn and all the volunteers were incredibly open with sharing their community with me — I felt like part of the family! Alyn doesn’t think of the land as hers but as a shared space that facilitates connection and spirituality. If you arrive with an open heart, you can learn a lot about the Taino culture and traditions of the people who steward this land. I was able to participate in a mezcal ceremony which I found healing and a once in a lifetime chance to participate in an indigenous practice in this welcoming space.
I had plenty of time to rest and journal! Many days did not have a set schedule so having your own idea of projects you’d like to complete could contribute to your overall experience. We woke up early and often did yoga before starting the day. About twice a month, a group of local volunteers come to the farm to work alongside you. We also went to volunteer at the community center by preparing and delivering meals for local elders. I found this to be a rewarding, as WWOOFing is such a privilege and giving back to those in the community is important.
