Homestead specializing in mostly perennial and medicinal herbs, no-till, organic and regenerative.
Maine
My name is Steve, aka, Fahmah Steve. I'm a divorced 72 y/o non-smoking man living with my 10 y/o Staffy Lab mix and 2 cats.
You will have available to you a 18' pop-up camper with two large beds with full electric and water connection from the house. Shower and full kitchen facilities are also accessible in the main house only 20 feet away.
Topics and gardening techniques that I currently use or have researched in depth:
*Organic/Regenerative
* No-till (cultivation vs tilling)
* Hugelkultur garden beds
* Korean Natural Farming
* Composing
* Compost tea
* Vermicomposting
* Whole plant liquid fertilizer
* Mulching
* Biochar
* Rain water collecting
* Herbs - Medicinal/Culinary
* Fresh/dehydrated
* Human powered kitchen tools
* Teas
* Tinctures
* Salves
* Oil extraction
* Aromatherapy
* Essential oils/Hydrosols
* Alcohol distillation
* Human powered garden tools
* Seed collecting
* Plant propagation
* Edible Forest Gardening
* Permaculture
* Wood chip mulching
* DIY projects of all kinds
* Intentional gardening
We will go deep into Hugelkultur beds, building soil structure and health. This is a full cycle system where almost all inputs come from the homestead and return to it again to complete the cycle. We will gather herbs for fresh teas or for dehydrating for future use as tinctures, salves, balms, lineaments, etc. I would love to share my knowledge of regenerative soil building methods, including a deep dive into the micro and macrocosm of the relationship between the soil, our bodies and the Universe from several different perspectives. We will focus extensively on the relationship between plants and human and animal health.
From the garden and as organic as possible from whole plant based fruits and veggies. Some seafood, but never farm raised. I have everything required for meal preparation. Combine your love of preparing and eating healthy food prepared with love, straight from the garden with a deeper understanding of how food is medicine when grown and prepared properly.
Hiking. We are near Mt. Katahdin ( less than an hour drive) and an easy day trip distance to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
Amateur photography. I love taking nature photos, which I combine with my love for hiking and gardening.

Staying with Stephen at his farm in Medford, Maine was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and instantly at home. Stephen is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. I learned so much during my stay—about the land, the town, and farm life in general—and it truly made the experience unforgettable.
The farm itself is peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with nature. Every day felt meaningful and enriching, and I left feeling inspired, refreshed, and deeply grateful for the experience. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend Stephen’s farm to anyone looking for a unique, educational, and heartwarming getaway. We are still in contact and he is currently helping with my farm.
