Organic farm near the Jersey Shore.
New Jersey
Welcome to a growing community in Toms River, New Jersey, dedicated to cultivating healing, sustainability, and hope. Our farm is part of an innovative program by a non-profit mental healthcare company, combining sustainable agriculture, mental wellness, and recovery-based learning.
We’re a small team of passionate growers, mentors, and community members who believe in the power of working the land to restore both people and the planet. Our farm family includes Dennis (the live-in the project manager), seasonal interns, volunteers, and some friendly animals (coming soon).
At our core, this farm is about connection: to the earth, to each other, and to purpose.
Our farm blends sustainable agriculture, aquaponics, and hands-on learning. WWOOFers will have the opportunity to dive into:
Clearing land from fallen trees and branches
Planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops
Beekeeping
Organic vegetable and herb production
Building and maintaining greenhouses
Composting and soil health
Seed starting and greenhouse management
Aquaponic system care (fish and plants)
Permaculture and regenerative growing techniques
Helping with our youth mentorship and community outreach projects
A typical day starts around 10 AM with morning chores—watering, feeding animals, checking the aquaponics system, and harvesting for our CSA or local food donations. After a mid-morning break, we move into bigger projects such as planting, building greenhouses, or improving irrigation systems. Afternoons might include educational workshops or quiet garden work. We are just getting started and have not opened to the public, yet. As spring approaches, we are getting busy laying the groundwork for this season.
You’ll learn not only how to grow food sustainably but also how to grow community through service and compassion.
WWOOFers stay in our farmhouse. Our three guest rooms are simple but comfortable, with 2 shared bathrooms and a community kitchen. We have gym equipment in the basement and our very own podcast studio in the sunroom.
We provide three meals a day, often shared family-style. Much of our food comes directly from the farm (or the organic farm across the street)—fresh produce, eggs, and herbs. We love cooking together and sharing recipes from around the world. Vegetarian-friendly options are always available.
There’s also plenty of space for quiet time—porch seating, hammocks, and open fields perfect for reflection or evening campfires.
When the day’s work is done, there’s lots to explore and enjoy. Many of us enjoy music, writing, podcasting, cooking, and outdoor recreation.
Nearby you’ll find Jersey Shore beaches, Double Trouble State Park, and Cattus Island County Park—perfect for hiking, kayaking, swimming, or birdwatching. Toms River also has a welcoming arts scene, coffee shops, and community events throughout the year.
If you’re seeking a place to connect with nature, contribute to something meaningful, and learn about sustainable living in a supportive environment, this farm is the perfect place to grow.

really incredible farm and community outreach/work happening here. Dennis is real passionate about his work, on the farm and the media work, very generous, and a great host. Highly recommend staying here if you're a new or experienced wwoofer, looking to learn some permaculture tips, get your hands dirty, and spend time around high scale podcast, audio and video production work. I can't wait to see how the farm grows, evolves over the coming months and years, a lot of fun projects happening there!
