We’re a small family creating a peaceful country-style homestead in The Acreage, near West Palm Beach, Florida. Our project focuses on developing a rustic home environment with a growing food forest, native landscaping, and eco-friendly outdoor spaces. We’re looking for volunteers with hands-on skills in carpentry, landscaping, and general home or garden projects. Our place is surrounded by nature, offering a quiet and open atmosphere ideal for anyone who enjoys creative outdoor work. RV campers and self-contained travelers are welcome—we have space for parking and enjoying Florida’s sunshine under the palms. We share our home with a few friendly pets who love company and calm surroundings. Our daily activities focus on building and maintaining a small food forest and country-style garden. Typical tasks include planting fruit trees, mulching, weeding, watering, composting, and small carpentry or landscaping projects around the property. We also work on rustic home improvements such as outdoor seating areas, pathways, and garden structures. WWOOFers can learn practical skills in sustainable gardening, soil building, native landscaping, and simple woodwork or homestead maintenance. A typical day starts early with morning garden tasks, followed by light construction or creative projects, and afternoons free to enjoy the quiet Florida countryside, wildlife, and sunshine. WWOOFers will be provided with comfortable accommodations on our property. RV campers are welcome, and we have space with hookups for self-contained vehicles. For those without RVs, we can provide shared indoor sleeping areas in a rustic, country-style setting. Meals are home-cooked, made with fresh produce from our garden whenever possible. We focus on healthy, wholesome meals and accommodate dietary preferences where feasible. Volunteers are welcome to help with meal preparation and enjoy our communal dining experience. We enjoy hands-on and creative hobbies, including cooking fresh meals from our garden, small carpentry projects, and gardening. Music often fills the air while we work, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Our property is surrounded by nature, with plenty of space to explore. Nearby, volunteers can enjoy hiking, birdwatching, or relaxing in the sunshine. Loxahatchee offers nature trails, kayaking, and wildlife adventures, and the Indian Trail provides scenic walking and biking opportunities. Lake Okeechobee is perfect for fishing, boating, and outdoor exploration, while West Palm Beach is close by for beaches, swimming, local markets, and cultural attractions.

Very friendly and attentive—Ram, the host, consistently checked in to make sure I was comfortable and asked if I needed anything. He answered all my questions, and his house was clean, spacious, and welcoming. Conversations with him were enjoyable. The work was straightforward and easy: I raked leaves, trimmed dying plant matter, and piled it up for composting.
