Hello! This is Claire, Patrick, and Toad! We run a mixed vegetable farm. We are located on the edge of Laurel, Montana, which lies just 20 minutes west of Billings, the largest city in the state. We farm about an acre of mixed vegetables and sell our products in Billings, Laurel, and Red Lodge. We sell at farmers markets, run a CSA, and online through a local food hub. We - Claire and Patrick - are partners and Toad is our dog. We also have a roommate and bestie, named Nate. Our farm tasks range from day to day, but generally follow a weekly schedule centered around our markets. Tasks on the farm include: planting, harvesting, greenhouse work, trellising, washing, packing, and of course, weeding. As the sole operators of the farm, Claire and Patrick will always be around to guide you through activities and keep you company. We love to share what we've learned and to learn from you, too! For our first three years, we lived in a tiny house on the farm. In early 2025 we moved into a full-sized house on the property and the tiny house has sadly sat mostly vacant since then. This gave us the idea that we should open it up to WWOOFers! We've both WWOOfed in the past and found it to be an enriching experience. The tiny house has a kitchen, bathroom, and loft bedroom. The loft is accessed by a ladder so requires comfort with climbing a ladder. The toilet is a composting toilet so that is something to get comfortable with too if you’re only used to flush toilets. The water for the tiny house is supplied by a small tank that we’re happy to fill as often as necessary, but we ask you to please be conscientious with your water usage. When we lived together in the tiny house we generally could go a week on a tank of water. The tiny house is a great place for one person or for a couple to share. We hope to share at least one meal a day with our WWOOFers and will provide groceries for the other meals of the day. Being a vegetable farm, you are welcome to whatever veggies we have growing while you're here! We love living where we do because we get both the solitude of farm living and easy access to a great community of friends in Billings. Also, we are fairly close to the Beartooth Mountains, where we love to hike. Claire hosts a monthly story telling event in Billings and she loves to make art, spend time with friends, and cook. Patrick likes to exercise, read, play piano, and putz about on the farm. We like to think of ourselves as ambassadors for our area. South-central Montana often gets overlooked for more "charming" mountain towns in the state, but we know better and are proud of the place we live :)

Patrick, Claire, Nate and Toad were amazing hosts! We learned so much on this farm. Their organizational skills are top notch! We learned about how hard Patrick has worked to establish workable soil, trellising tomatoes inside a greenhouse, when is best to direct seed, transfer etc. The skills that Patrick and Claire taught us will follow us into our own future farm (nowhere near on their scale 😁). Mind you, Patrick and Claire are also planning their wedding, in June, all the while running this bombastic farm! If you are looking into this farm as your next host, DO IT! You will not be disappointed. Thank you all for your knowledge, compassion, friendship, inclusivity, training, and most of all the love you have for your farm! Take care!!! Oh, and we were there FIRST EVER WWOOFERS!!!!
